Tamil Nadu Chief Postmaster General Mariamma Thomas handed over job orders to 60 candidates at the Rozgar Mela here on Friday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through video conferencing, commenced the 17th job fair event which was organised in several parts of the country. During the event, more than 51,000 candidates received their job orders.
Ms. Thomas, speaking on the occasion said that through the initiative of the Union government, the dream of creating employment opportunities was being realised.
“In Tamil Nadu Postal Services alone more than 3,000 candidates in various cadre were recruited,” she added.
During the job fair occasion, 36 candidates were given job orders for Department of Posts, 15 candidates for Ministry of Railways, five for National Institute of Technology, Puducherry, two for Financial Services (Indian Overseas Bank) and two for Ministry of Home Affairs (CRPF).
Upon handing over the job orders, she added that the candidates should prioritise common national good over the individual good.
