Mango Growers Association in association with State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation and Horticultural Research Institute will organise a two-day workshop on “Export-quality mango production and export procedures” in Dharwad from Saturday.
Honorary president of Mango Growers Association Rajendra Poddar told presspersons in Dharwad on Thursday that the workshop will be held at Alur Venkatarao Bhavan in Dharwad on Saturday and Sunday. President of Sahyadri Farms, Nashik, Vilasrao Shinde will inaugurate the workshop at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.
During the workshop, various sessions on export quality mango production and related issues will be held.
Vice-Chancellor of Horticulture University, Bagalkot, Vishnuvardhan, Vice-Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, P.L. Patil and Chairman of Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Muddu Gangadhar will participate in the inaugural session.
Prof. Poddar said that at 12.15 p.m. on day one, Additional Director of Horticulture Department S.V. Hittalamani will deliver a talk on “Innovative Mango Production Technologies” followed by a talk on “Climate-Resilient Practices for Mango Production” by J.P. Gopali at 1 p.m. A session on “Post-Harvest Treatments of Mangoes” will be held at 3 p.m.
On day two, manager of Andrews Institution, Bengaluru, Madhuvati and exporter Sudheer Chitragar will conduct a session on “Export Procedures” at 10 a.m., Prof. Poddar said.
