The annual ‘Grameena Vidya Jyothi 2025’ programme of Sangamitra Rural Development Society (SRDS) was conducted at Gondupalem village of K. Kotapadu mandal in Anakapalli district on Sunday. As many as 60 students, their parents, along with State and District best teachers participated in the programme.
Dr. B. Ramachandra Rao, associate professor of Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, who is the founder president of SRDS, spoke about the objective of SRDS, which was established primarily to enable bright students from rural areas to compete with their peers in cities, who have better opportunities.
The organisation has been giving ‘pratibha puraskar’ for students from rural areas to motivate them. Additionally, they hold career guidance programmes to enable them to know about the opportunities available after completing various courses. SRDS has also been honouring rural teachers, for State and District awards, to encourage them.
R. Basava Raju, a successful entrepreneur, participated as chief guest, urged the students to set big goals and to strive to achieve them. He stressed on the importance of hard work, dedication and honesty. Cash prizes were given to 60 students of Government High Schools from K. Kotapadu and Devarapalli mandals.
