A Head Constable riding a motorcycle died in a road accident in Thirugokarnam police station limits in Pudukottai district on Tuesday.
Head Constable Satish Kumar, 43, who was serving in Namanasamuthram police station in the district, had been staying in the police quarters at Thirugokarnam in Pudukottai town.
Police sources said Satish Kumar was riding the motorcycle towards Pudukottai from Namanasamuthram after completing his duty in the evening when the vehicle skidded on the road due to heavy rain. The head constable sustained head injury and died on the spot. Thirugokarnam police have registered a case.
