A dog went on a biting spree and bit around 12 people at Keezhanaalumoolaikinar hamlet of Mela Tiruchendur village panchayat on Thursday.
According to a senior official from the health department, 12 persons were treated with tetanus shot and anti-rabies vaccine at the Primary Health Centre in Pitchivilai. She added that one person was referred to Tiruchendur government hospital for observation, as the victim, aged around 72 years, had sustained a deeper bite wound.
The remaining victims were treated at the PHC in Pitchivilai.
