Four schools in the national capital received bomb threat via e-mail on Friday morning, which were later declared to be hoaxes after a thorough investigation, a police officer said.
Efforts are on to trace the sender of the e-mails, the officer added.
According to an official of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the first call to the fire department was received at 9.35 a.m. from the CRPF School in Sector 16, Dwarka, followed by another at 10.00 a.m. from Sant Darshan Public School in Nangloi. The third call came from Shanti Gyan Niketan in Goyla Dairy area at 10.35 a.m., and the fourth one was reported from Andhra School in Prasad Nagar at 12 noon, he said.
Multiple teams of the DFS, along with the local police, bomb disposal units and dog squads, were rushed to each location, the official said. “All premises were evacuated and thoroughly checked, and no suspicious items were found. The threats were declared hoaxes after a verification,” he added.
The bomb threats come a week after a student of Vishal Bharati School in Paschim Vihar was apprehended for sending a hoax e-mail mentioning that he had planted a bomb in the premises. During investigations, he admitted that he sent the e-mail to avoid sitting for an exam.
