London, Oct. 19: The direct annual cost of sickness and death attributable to Malaria is between 50 and 60 Million sterling, according to Mr. Balfour, Director of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who, in a speech at Guild House, Eccleston Square, pointed out that Malaria was constantly warring against the Empire, picking off the officers attached to the Mercantile marine and crippling Trade. He added the world’a annual death toll from Malaria was 2 millions.
