Marking the 61st birthday of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Kasturba Gandhi Kendra Trust organised an annadaanam (food donation) programme for around 1,000 poor and underprivileged people at Gandhi Road in Tirupati on Wednesday.

State BJP Legal Advisor Ajay Kumar attended the event as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Mr. Amit Shah began his political journey through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and served as the chairman of a cooperative bank at a very young age.”

“In 2014, he took charge as the Union Minister of Cooperation, and since 2019, he has been serving as the Union Home Minister, playing a key role in steering the country’s growth,” Mr. Ajay added. He said he was honoured to participate in the food donation drive benefitting underprivileged households.

P.C. Rayulu, Chairman of the Kasturba Gandhi Kendra Trust, said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Amit Shah has been working tirelessly for India’s progress. He has played a vital role in addressing national issues and has been a strong pillar of support to the government.”

He added that the trust has been consistently organising various service activities for the poor, women, and students over the past two decades.
