Theatre artiste Shashidhar Narendra has said that because of lacunae in the existing system, the valour and sacrifices of many great woman warriors in the Indian history remained unknown to many people.

Inaugurating the staging of Kannada play titled “Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar” by Sunidhi Kala Saurabha Sanstha at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubballi recently, Mr. Shashidhar Narendra said that staging historical plays is a big challenge.

However, narrating the history through such plays are important to recall the contributions of great personalities in history, as drama has the power to make an everlasting impression, he said

“People have forgotten who Ahilya Bai Holkar was. Sunidhi Kala Sourabha has done a commendable job of remembering the great personality through a play,” he said.

Basil D’Souza of the Rotary Club, the former director of Rangayana Subhash Narendra, theatre artiste Veena Atavale and other artists were present. Subsequently, the artistes of the theatre group held the audience spellbound through their lively performance.
