Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) T. Harish Rao asked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to fulfill the promises made to the unemployed youth during the run up to Assembly elections in 2023.
Releasing the ‘nirudyoga baki card’ (debt card on promises to unemployed youth) at a meeting here on Friday, he accused the Congress leaders of using the unemployed youth as ‘use and throw’ material since they were promised filling 2 lakh jobs in the first year after coming to power, of issuing job calendar and a mega DSC (to fill teacher posts) every year but left in the cold after coming to power.
The AICC leaders held a meeting with the unemployed youth in Saroor Nagar stadium and were taken into confidence by promising to fill vacancies in the government jobs every year. In case the AICC leaders and TPCC leaders, including the Chief Minister have guts to face the unemployed youth, they must revisit the coaching centres in Ashok Nagar and Chikkadpally City Central Library and see how they would be treated.
The Congress government had failed to give any employment notification this year but had issued a notification for liquor shop licence tenders two months in advance. On June 2 this year, the Chief Minister had promised financial support to 5 lakh unemployed youth to take up self-employment activity but had betrayed on it too, Mr. Harish Rao alleged.
Stating that at least a section of the unemployed youth now have an opportunity to teach a lesson to the government, the BRS leader said they must defeat the Congress candidate in the Jubilee Hills byelection to make the government realise its mistakes. A defeat in Jubilee Hills would make Mr. Rahul Gandhi realise how costly it would prove if the Congress tried to deceive/betray youth.
