Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies are revolutionising the global economy and driving development, observed Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director and President of Microsoft India.
During his keynote address at NRI Institute of Technology (NRIIT), Guntur, on Friday on the topic “Emerging Trends in Technology and Industry Readiness for Students,” Mr. Kumar emphasised that every new technology should be welcomed and encouraged.
He also urged students to cultivate the qualities of great leaders. For example, he highlighted three key traits of Microsoft founder Bill Gates—effective decision-making, long-term thinking, and risk-taking—which have helped the company become a global leader. Mr. Kumar further noted that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella possesses qualities that have contributed to the company’s continued growth, including effective communication, continuous learning, and creating clarity. The Managing Director stressed that students must be prepared to tackle dynamic challenges by continually learning and upgrading their skills. The event was attended by NRIIT Secretary and Correspondent Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Director Ravindra Alapati, K. Madhu Murthy, Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, and a large number of engineering students.
