Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss has named his daughter Srikanthi Parasuraman as the executive president of the party. He made the annoucement at the PMK’s unified district general council meeting in Dharmapuri on Saturday (October 25, 2025).
By declaring her political entry by elevating her to the party’s top post, formerly held by his son and Ms. Parasuraman’s brother Anbumani Ramadoss, Mr. Ramadoss has drawn up the battlelines between the two warring factions contesting for control over the party.
“She will take care of me and the party,” Mr. Ramadoss said.
Last month, Ms. Parasuraman spoke at a public meeting in Krishnagiri, rallying support for her father, who is in an epic feud with Mr. Anbumani.
At Saturday’s meeting, Mr. Ramadoss also introduced G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran, who has been newly inducted as the party’s youth wing president.
‘Will be part of winning alliance’
Later, addressing the media, the PMK founder said that the party will be “part of the winning alliance” in the 2026 Assembly election. “The alliance we point to will be the winning alliance,” he said.
Replying to a question about the ongoing feud for control over the party, Mr. Ramadoss said: “We are the party and we will win. We have complained to the Election Commission and soon, there will be a positive outcome.”
A caste census will be carried out either before or after the elections. Soon, we will announce the dates to launch a struggle for the demand for a caste census, he added.
