Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Telangana govt. sign collaboration


The Telangana government and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) on Wednesday signed a letter of intent for strategic partnership in strengthening life sciences education and research.

Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications D. Sridhar Babu and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at RMIT Catherine Itsiopoulos, amid other government and university leaders, attended the signing ceremony.

According to Mr. Sridhar Babu, the partnership with RMIT reflects Telangana’s long-term vision of investing in people and ideas. “As we work towards establishing the Telangana School of Life Sciences, such collaborations will help us nurture a highly skilled, research-oriented workforce that can drive innovation and shape India’s biotechnology future,” he said.

CEO, Telangana Life Sciences Foundation, Shakthi M. Nagappan observed that the “strategic alliance is the blueprint for tomorrow’s Genome Valley.”
