Three youngsters, in an inebriated state attack man in Theni, dies

Three youngsters including two teenagers were held on charges of a murder of a man in Theni district on Tuesday.

Police said that Jayapal, who was returning home, objected to the way three youths were bursting crackers in the habitation. He advised the trio to go home as they were drunk and that they may get injured. Not in a mood to listen, the trio – who were identified as Marudamuthu, 25, Seeman, 20, and Koushik Pandi, 20, of Bungalowpatti village, attacked Jayapal with an aruval and wooden log.

In the assault, it is said Jayapal fell on the floor and died on the spot.

Periakulam police sent the body to the GH and arrested the three persons. Further investigation was on.
